Hello all! I'm posting here to introduce myself and my Highborne mage Talthas Starcaller. Around the internet I go by SessionZero, but you can also just call me Talthas. I have been playing WoW since mid-late vanilla, but didn't really get into it seriously until Wrath, and didn't start roleplaying in it till MoP. I'm a bit of an MMO junkie, but WoW has always been my one mainstay, as I grew up playing Blizzard games like Warcraft 2 and 3, StarCraft and Brood War, and Diablo 2. I love the lore, the world, and the characters of Warcraft, so I'm sure I'll be here till they pry the last data packets of the servers from my cold dead fingers. I've been on Wyrmrest Accord since Legion, and heard about Silver Circle through some friends, so now here I am!

Touch of Elune
OOC: What about the kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them?
Ever since Warcraft 3, the Night Elves have been a fascinating faction to me. They were sort of my first introduction to elves that didn't fit the standard Tolkein High Elf template, and I loved their association with the night, nature, and the moon. I also dug their very not-elflike savagery in Warcraft 3 (remember when they stuck a bunch of orc heads on spikes as a warning to stay away from their forests? Dope). They are equal parts elegant wisdom and feral strength, and I'm looking forward to giving them more attention in my writing than I've yet been able to in my WoW career.

IC: What memory has the most impact on your character's life, and does it drive them today?
Like most Highborne, Talthas was a child of Eldre'Thalas and a member of the Shen'dralar, raised during the Long Vigil and taught the arcane secrets of the Highborne mages. When the Horde raided Dire Maul and expelled the Shen'dralar, Talthas lost the only home he'd ever had. This fostered further resentment towards the Horde within him, and years later, when the Banshee Queen burned Teldrassil to the ground and Talthas lost his second home, that resentment turned to bitter hatred. Now, he utilizes his arcane magics in a tireless pursuit of revenge and restoration for his people.

OOC: Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why.
Without a doubt, my dream job would be as a freelance artist, making comic books or doing concept art for a video game company. I love drawing, I've been drawing since I was little, and Blizzard games especially had a huge impact on my developing creative style when I was growing up. As such I also enjoy reading comic books and playing video games a lot.

IC: What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents?
Talthas is an experienced Highborne sorcerer and very capable of teaching others the arcane ways of the Highborne, though like most other Shen'dralar he refuses to teach any aspiring mages who are not Kaldorei. Aside from his magical talents, Talthas enjoys drawing - mostly landscapes and figure drawings.

Nature Resistance
OOC: What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer?
I'd love to better develop 'setting the scene' so to speak. A lot of my roleplay writing involves barebones descriptions of mannerisms, facial expressions, body language, and environmental setting. It's mostly a pragmatic description of the environment and then dialogue. So I'm hoping to get better about describing how a character looks, how their expression and body language gives away subtle emotion, and other descriptors that can enrich a scene or post and give more life to the character.

IC: Name one thing you love about your character, and one thing you'd like to improve for them.
I have always been a big fan of magical systems in fantasy writing, and the practitioners thereof. Warcraft in particular has a very good hard magic system in my opinion, where you have almost a star system of opposing cosmic forces. Arcane and fel - order and chaos, light and void - holy and shadow, and nature and elemental - creation and destruction. The early loremasters were very good about explaining what these forces represent, how they work, and what they can and cannot do. As such, exploring the magic systems within Warcraft playing as one of the wielders of said magic forces is a favorite character archetype of mine, and I love writing with other practitioners of these various magical disciplines.

Wisp Spirit
OOC: Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community.
Really I'm just here to have fun. At the end of the day, we're here playing a game and participating in a shared hobby together, and if you're not having fun doing so, then what's the point? Good stories, character development, and interpersonal relationships between characters are the end-goal of any good RP guild, and if there can be some good PvE content mixed in with that storytelling, then that's even better.

IC: Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way?
Talthas has come to appreciate the inherent spirituality of nature since rejoining greater Kaldorei society with the rest of the Shen'dralar. While he is by no means a man of faith, he has learned a certain reverence for nature and for Elune through his interactions with druids and priestesses. He seeks to reconcile his knowledge and skills of the arcane with his fellow Kaldorei, and see the ordered knowledge of magic held in the same regard as the natural forces of the world, and the moon goddess.

OOC: Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of?
I am very much an introvert, and while the impersonal nature of the internet makes communication and interpersonal relations a bit easier for me, I still struggle with face-to-face interaction on the best of days. My ideal get-togethers are a small and close-knit group of friends doing something we all enjoy, be it a movie, video games, or Dungeons and Dragons.

IC: Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax, why?
Talthas spent thousands of years locked away inside Eldre'Thalas with his people, and while he never faulted them for such caution and secrecy, the Shen'dralar's expulsion from Eldre'Thalas had the unintended side effect of giving Talthas a thirst and appreciation for exploration and adventure. Since rejoining Kaldorei society, Talthas has made ample use of his portal and teleportation abilities, always willing to go new places, see new things, and lend a helping hand when it's needed. He has participated in all of the Alliance's endeavors since the Cataclysm, such as the Pandaria expedition, the war against the Iron Horde, the Legion invasion, and the Fourth War against the Horde.

Grand introduction Talthas!

I play one of the few highborne in the Silver Circle, and I love to see yours is from Feralas as well. From what you've revealed, your character seems like he'd make fast friends with a number of current members of the Circle.

You mentioned you've been playing since Vanilla. I'd be interested in learning more about the RP experiences you've had on WoW in that time. Did you always RP, or did you stumble on it?

Come by to meet us for roleplay soon. We have a few events set this month in Darkshore (Old), all of them are open for newcomers to attend. I look forward to seeing you in game and for some roleplay. 💪

Aran'arcana Starcaller,
It is a pleasure to receive your letter and I can't wait to hear more about the city of Eldre'Thalas. I've only been there a few times myself, but I've heard it has a very rich history. I look forward to meeting you.

Hello Talthas!
Thank you for your introduction!
I myself started in W3 as well and I loved the Nightelves of old. They caught my imagination and I still love them to this day.

We do have an event coming up on 7/11/22, which is a patrol like event. It could be a good place for your character to run into the guild if you so wish. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.

If you have any questions or just want to say hello, my discord is Snowywolf#0354

Cheers, Snowy

I actually didn't start RPing until Mists. When I started the game, I played it on and off through late vanilla and TBC, lazily leveling an undead rogue. It wasn't until Wrath that I really got into the game and played it more consistently, and then it wasn't until Mists that I tried roleplaying in-game. I already enjoyed a bit of RP while playing D&D, so I figured I'd see what it's like in Azeroth as well. I made a human paladin on Earthen Ring and played there for awhile before transferring to Wyrmrest Accord in Legion, and I've been here ever since!

This sounds like a lot of fun, but my work schedule only lets me play Thursdays through Saturdays for the time being. That will hopefully change soon, though, so I look forward to jumping into events when I can!
