Hey y'all! Cold-call introductions can be a tricky one for me, and I've visited and then closed this page a good half-dozen times over the past week, but here goes!

I'm a server transfer from A-MG that meandered over in early-ish February, and while I did choose a RP/PVE guild and invested five and a half-ish months, it ultimately was not what I was looking for. Sad times. :( Silver Circle was on my radar before I made the move over, and while I ultimately decided not to pursue my love for Night Elf roleplay, I'd like to lean back a bit into my love for elves and apologize to it for spending so much time away.

Ideally, what I'm looking for is a guild that that prioritizes storytelling and relationship building between its members, both IC and OOC, where OOC egos are ideally left at the door and individual members feel seen, appreciated and invested in. I enjoy a decent dose of PVE and a smattering of PVP so long as it's only moderately sweaty and relatively salt-free, but that sort of stuff can kinda be done anywhere with anyone. Consistent, inclusive RP that encourages character development has been sorely lacking for me aside from a few folks that I've met independently, and I'm starting to feel itchy. :(

Touch of Elune
OOC: What about the kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them?
There's the super obvious appeal of the 'pretty magic elf' aesthetic, but what genuinely appeals to me is the longevity of Kaldorei religion, culture, and military/combat savagery, even as they as a race have evolved. I especially enjoy the latter, as so many Kaldorei roleplayers I’ve run into over the years tend to shy away from the notion that the Kaldorei are a ferocious race despite their typical beauty and elegance.

IC: What memory has the most impact on your character's life, and does it drive them today?
Nemriel spent a (comparably) brief but noteworthy span of time in service to Malygos as a mage hunter, though it was far from voluntary. The circumstances that lead to her servitude have had a lasting, indomitable effect on her personality, social skills, and blatant favoritism for her own kind. When confronted with other races and even among other Kaldorei she’s unfamiliar with, Nemriel showcases antisocial traits, paranoia, and a lack of empathy. The invocation of the Night Warrior and Nemriel’s subsequent service to the Army of the Black Moon further solidified Nemriel’s faith in Elune’s rage, as well as her belief that vengeance is now a Kaldorei’s divine right.

OOC: Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why.
I currently work two jobs, where one is from home as a customer support agent for an entertainment company that develops popular products in a specific industry. To be honest, it’s relaxed, the pay is fairly decent, the benefits aren’t terrible, and my hours are flexible. My coworkers are just as passionate about the industry as I am, and the buffer of keeping the details of my work to myself provide me with the bit of privacy that I need. With my RL need for a flexible work environment, it’s honestly pretty ideal. If nothing new ever came to me and I did this until I retired, I’d be pretty content.

IC: What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents?
Having absolutely no magical capacity or prowess whatsoever, Nemriel followed in her father’s footsteps and inherited his medical practice in Ashenvale after his demise, though it came undone during her stint in service to Malygos. She maintains an impressive pharmacopoeia to support her expertise with mundane healing, and has a vast, encyclopedic knowledge of botany that includes some plant species found off-world, as well as their medicinal and alchemical properties.

Any ‘hidden’ talents are more likely to relate to nullifying, containing, or eradicating sources of magic, and she’s very unlikely to disclose to source of that knowledge.

Nature Resistance
OOC: What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer?
My self-esteem when in the company of a decent number of folks can falter a fair bit, especially when I’m self-conscious about bulldozing other people that are present with too many details, too many actions, and so on. As a result, my responsiveness to people that include certain hooks in their posts can be lacking, and I’ll notice after the fact that the person that was writing with me came away with a lot of details that just went unacknowledged. It makes me come off as a bit of a self-absorbed roleplayer and I’m chipping away at chilling out when it comes to assuming that folks see my posts and roll their eyes.

IC: Name one thing you love about your character, and one thing you'd like to improve for them.
It can sometimes be a big fat breath of fresh, challenging air to continuously play someone that has so much difficulty empathizing with others, especially non-elves, and the amount of time I’ve spent making squeaky laughing noises or posting ‘NEMRIEL NO’ in all caps in guild chat with guildmates has been a real treat over the years. Ultimately though, the time I most enjoy playing Nemriel is when she’s developed enough familiarity with other people for her mannerisms to start having a positive impact, whether it’s on another person, on a tricky/dire situation or some other thing. I love, love, love to see her come around to forming attachments to others, even if they’re unconventional, and then turning her loose to act like a creepy little Doberman protecting all the folks she’s decided are ‘hers’.

With that in mind, I really, really treasure the opportunities that other RPers create for Nemriel to remember the value of diplomacy and skill sets that are different from her own, to ensure that she doesn’t fall too far into irredeemable thinking/habits.

Wisp Spirit
OOC: Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community.
Ideally I’d like to form some friendships with folks that are just as excited to throw their characters through development hoops as I am, are just as invested in throwing our characters at each other as I am, and are genuinely invested in treating one another with consideration and respect. Having been in groups as a member of the leadership team where time and attention for people who looked up to us to engage them or show interest in their stories was sorely lacking, I’d like to shrink my circle/guild down to something where interpersonal interactions are more valuable. I’d like to be a part of a group where its positive reputation precedes it, and where members can be expected to be considerate of other roleplayers.

IC: Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way?
Having struggled for millennia with a lack of aptitude for magic, Nemriel’s faith in what Elune might see in her was far from concrete, and she preferred to embrace the more predictable outcomes of scientific application of natural, worldly resources. Then one day Tyrande got angry enough to shriek at the sky and call Elune down to wreak divine havoc, and Nemriel felt Elune’s influence permeate everything and sink into her very bones. Her eyes turned black along with everyone else that fought to reclaim Darkshore from the Horde, and that’s essentially sealed Nemriel’s devotion to Elune and a certain level of openness to other elves that share similar sentiments.

OOC: Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of?
I think that if there was a scale for it, I’d be somewhere in the middle, maybe leaning a little more toward extrovert; it really just depends on how long I’ve been able to warm up and get a feel for the social climate in the space I’m occupying. My ideal hangout is either a bit of a smaller, chill, more intimate setting where people can spend quality time giving each other their focus, or a larger group that still sees it as acceptable to interact in smaller bubbles while the festivities go on. My social tank can empty out without too much notice sometimes, but even when I’m doing my own thing, I really appreciate being able to soak up good vibes by listening to other folks have a good time.

IC: Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax, why?
Adventures? You mean work, right? Those might feel like the same thing to Nemriel, especially if there’s something new to discover or learn, or there’s something that needs punishing for some sort of crime (perceived or otherwise) against Elune or Kaldorei standards of living. Sitting around for tea and chitchat isn’t in her comfort zone, though she’ll still show up, accept food and drinks, and observe until she’s able to contribute. Sometimes that’s just because I like to bring her moody butt into situations where she’s like Nosferatu with a party hat on and a piece of cake in her hands.

Ishnu-alah Nemriel,

It's good to see cold intros and I know how hard it can be to simply strike up a conversation and throw yourself out there, so thank you for that. As someonr who plays a Sentinel Hippogryph Rider I'm quite fascinated with the militaristic aspect of the Kaldorei as well. I'm even more curious about your mage hunter background and service to Malygos. I look forward to unpacking all that has to offer.

I tend to shy away in larger groups as well, but it is something that we try to encourage members to be more active in. Events happen frequently and it's a good way to build companionship witin the guild as a whole. Admittedly, I do find smaller rp more rewarding at a personal level, but events are more challengingg and team building.

I encourage you to take a look at the calendar and find an event that suits you. I believe there is one this Friday (July 8th) that would be an excellent chance to come in and introduce yourself icly.

I love your answers to the questions and I'm looking forward to getting to know you icly more!

Winds at your back,
Cayldiais Moonfang

Thanks for responding!

I definitely enjoy 'structured events' when they punctuate more casual get-togethers and other RP, I just struggle a little with massive turnouts of 20+ people. I've attended some of the Y35 campaign events on Saturdays with turnouts around that size, and while I aim to have a good time and usually do, it's just so much stuff!

I've taken a peek at the calendar, and as I work from home on Friday and Saturday nights, you can absolutely count me in. It doesn't list a location for it, though, since it seems to change as needed. Has that been decided yet?

I absolutely freeze up also in huge events. I always feel I'm stepping on toes. While we do have them once a quarter, mostly seasonal celebration events the vast majority of our events are relatively small. Plus it gets to build that group dynamic and further a structured guild story.

As for the location..... Yeeees...... As soon as that comes up I will let you know lol. My best guess would be Lightsong (Legion), but that could change.

Edit: It'll be in Lightsong Inn in Val'sharah.
