Maeryna Nightcrest
Ishnu-Dal-Dieb! The character I'm wishing to introduce to the Circle is none other than my Highborne Mage, Maeryna Nightcrest! A former Shen'dralar Highborne that has since tried to integrate back into society, and make up for the mistakes that her kin have made since the War of Ancients! As for about me, I'm mostly OOCly referred to as Peaches, or by my characters name. [I play Nyrania, aka Nyrannia on the forums!] I've been playing since -very- last BC. [I believe it was just a handful of months before WOTLK] and been roleplaying since roughly very late Cata, to very early MOP! I've roleplayed both on World of Warcraft and on roleplaying forums, and for awhile on Discord. I really enjoy gaming -- specifically horror games of the past year! Though I do enjoy Bioware games as well! [Dragon Age series, and Mass Effect primarily!] Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you have a good day!

Little mini pre-introduction to Mae beyond what was mentioned above and including it as well!: Maeryna [May-Ree-Nuh] is a Highborne Arcanist -- a Shen'dralar that survived and managed to escape from Dire Maul with her Brothers, and a majority of her family still intact. Carrying the Nightcrest name onwards. Maeryna remained in hiding with her family up until Cataclysm -- where she would then like most of the Highborne, rejoin the Kaldorei and integrate back into Society. Even living in Darnassus up until the War of Thorns! Maeryna now among many has lost her home for a second time, and seeks a new one now!

Touch of Elune
OOC: What about the kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them?
I am a huge lover of elves ; always have been since I was very young. I loved hearing about Elven Princes in tales, and Elven Ladies -- I was a huge LOTR fan before WoW, and Drow Elves were always beautiful. I believe what inspires me most of the Kaldorei is mostly certainly their deep lore and history ; a race that is so old with so many tales is hard not to be inspired by them all! Though more specifically a favorite piece of lore about them is Highborne ; I'm a huge fan of Dire Maul and Feralas! The Shen'dralar piqued my curiosity and it was one of my favorite large interactive dungeons, where all of the bosses felt difficult and the quests were interesting with even more interesting quest givers!

IC: What memory has the most impact on your character's life, and does it drive them today?
Ooh boy, Maeryna has a lot of memories that have impacted her life both negatively and positively -- so I'll give a mini one of each. Maeryna's negatively impacted memory was her encounters with Naga, Mae has Thalassophobia [Fear of the Ocean]. Whilst she was fighting a singular Naga with both of her brothers -- she was tossed under the water and only saw the red slithering eyes coming towards her as she was sinking, her brothers pulled her out after slaying the Naga, but since then it's essentially traumatized her and it drives her to avoid the ocean at all costs -- preferring portals opened by Mages versus traveling by Sea. As for positively her Fathers teachings of Elune -- as her father was a Kaldorei Guardian [Essentially a Bodyguard!], whilst her mother was a Highborne Arcanist. Largely of her belief is taught by her Father, and she still believes and prays to Elune in her sparetime, greatly respecting the goddess and revering her.

Quickness
OOC: Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why.
I mostly enjoy gaming! [As mentioned before Horror games of later, though I'm thinking of restarting up the Bioware Dragon Age series!] I've always been a gamer since I was a kid, and grew up this way -- especially puzzles & horror. [Little Nightmares is one of my top favorites for this reason!] They just always give me a boost of seratonin when I complete one! I also actively enjoy reading fanfiction, and listening to music as I can't really handle silence unless I'm in a call with someone!

IC: What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents?
Maeryna is an herbalist, and can pass her knowledge of herbs to others around her I'm here! Among that she's also a Tailor, and used to make and sell dresses for fellow Highborne women in Eldre'thalas and Winterspring. Although of late this has turned towards more of a hobby and instead has been working towards infusing magic into robes and such to make it into protective armor -- though most of her attempts of late have only ended in failure. As for hidden talents she's a poet at heart, and while she's still exploring this hidden talent, it's became a good form of stress relief after a long day of studying tomes to find answers to questions! As for an additional hidden talent, she actually has some medical knowledge -- enough that after a fight [albeit during would not be so good, as she's no battle-medic] she could help healers tend to wounds with non-magical means. Due to her studies and also taking care of her Brothers who were a Spellblade and Ranger -- both of which often came home with injuries sustained in fights and battles they faced.

Nature Resistance
OOC: What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer?
This took me a hot minute to answer! I think personally my biggest strength is how descriptive I can get with a character -- or things around me so that people can envision it. However my biggest weakness is definitely a tie between rambling a tad, and typing too fast that I end up making a lot of errors/typos! Especially if I am remotely at all exhausted! It's both a curse and a blessing the ability to type quickly -- a blessing in the sense that I can respond fast, but a curse in the sense that I make a lot of errors in my writing. I find that when I slow down [Even if it means taking more time to post] my writing is a lot smoother, and I think I need to develop that a lot more. The other behalf that I'd like to work on is not using words repeatedly in a post! Especially when it concerns opening up a sentence, or describing things. [Often repeating things like gentle, carefully, careful] instead finding more words to describe something with the same meaning!

IC: Name one thing you love about your character, and one thing you'd like to improve for them.
Maeryna is intelligent, she has academic and strategy skills ; something that I deeply love and am passionate about the character is her studious knowledge from spending her days in Dire Maul [Eldre'thalas] reading tomes and consuming any sort of knowledge she could. This included books, and maps of Kalimdor. [Albeit that she is more unfamiliar with non-elvish lands], Language books. While she doesn't know everything of the world -- and is by no means perfect in her knowledge, it is still something she can assist her allies with, and her empathy and ability to put herself in other peoples shoes and think how they do. As for improvement, Maeryna tends to prefer books over people -- she's an introvert by nature, and I'd like to see her social skills improve. It's not that she dislikes people or is particularly shy, she's just a busy woman who has sold her heart and mind to books.

Wisp Spirit
OOC: Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community.
An ideal roleplay community? A community where anyone can explore their character's history and futures ; to unfold stories and how they deal with the deck of cards that life has handed them. Whether it be for worse or better. Where storytelling and character development is the primary focus. Campaign style events, and storytelling with plenty of adventures! As for expectations -- for everyone to care about each other and respect others as they would want to be. Where communication, wants, and expectations are clear RP-wise. A safe place where anyone can explore their story and invest a character within!

IC: Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way?
Maeryna believes in Elune ; so I would say yes to an extent. It's left quite an impact on her outlook for life and when everything seems lost she turns to Elune. Raised halfly by a Kaldorei Father who when he could -- when her mother was too far to hear, he'd teach her about the Goddess, and thus Maeryna overtime began to worship Elune. A major figure that she respects and supports to this day -- albeit since the War of Thorns she has had many questions for the Goddess.

Shadowmeld
OOC: Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of?
I would lean towards the answer of being an ambivert -- it depends on the social situation, in very extremely large groups I tend to be quieter and more reserved, but smaller groups and people I get to know the more I come out of my shell! As for an ideal get together, RP-wise would definitely be the aftermath of a battle or fight. When a group has settled together in a camp and are tending to wounds, repairing armor, and discussing battle-strategies and the wins and losses they have faced. Though another ideal get-together is more casual with chatting and getting to know one another and learning of each other!

IC: Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax, why?
Ooh! Hard question for Maeryna -- part of her would definitely love to just stay home and relax -- enjoying and basking in her hobbies, but she has a thirst for adventure as well. A drive that tells her to explore the world and face off against whatever decides to step in her pathway. Albeit if it's too much of either she can get exhausted and miss the other. I would earnestly say it's both and nearly evenly split down the middle. Though I'd like to think that there is a smidge part of her that would prefer to go out on adventures and learn new things and consume more tomes and knowledge. Mostly because she has a thirst for learning!

Ishnu-alah Maeryna (Peaches),

Thank you for taking the time to fill out an introduction! It's always a highlight to read new posts and get the chance to meet new characters. To jump on your first comments about gamingx I'm right there with you. Specially upcoming hooror games, Dead Space remake and the Castillo Protocol. I'm so excited for them and Little Nightmares, I need to play the second badly.

The fear of water is pretty terrifying and I like how you weaved that into portal travel. How do you feel about flight though? Asking for a hippogryph....

Always a need for a skilled tailor and herbalist. As a Hippogrpyh Rider myself, repair of gear and equipment is always in demand. Learning a better way to sew or forage is something I know I'd love to learn more.

The writing thing... Yeah, I understand that a lot. I often write on my phone, then later read it on my computer and question if I know what a comma or period is. Or if I even write in English with as many spelling errors.

You'd be a welcome addition and I hoghly encourage looking at the events calendar and seeing if any of them fit your timing. I personally use discord a lot as well if you have more questions you can reach out to myself (Ailsie#0416) and I'll do what I can to help or in game!

Looking forward to seeing you around!

Winds at your back,

Elune-adore, Cayldiais!

I'm additionally so stoked to eventually play Little Nightmares 2! And even more excited about the Dead Space remake and the Castillo games as well! They all pique my interest heavily and I share the same about Little Nightmares, I need to see the end through 2! I've only watched clips and pieces of the game and it's packed with so much story! Excited for the adventures with Mono and Six!

Yes! It definitely would be terrifying in the middle of the dark -- facing I feel like any Highborne's worst fear. A Naga, Maeryna's fear of turning into one is super high! I don't think she'd -super- mind Hippogryph travel, but super long distances on Hippogryph over water would likely make her uneasy!

Definitely! As mentioned Maeryna's current work is infushing magic [particularly Arcane] into armor to make things such as cloth and leather stronger to bolster defenses. A kind of abjuration shield is sew into it -- albeit that it wouldn't be a particularly strong solution, enough to brace and take a couple of hits before it'd shatter!

Oh god, the joys of typing on a phone! I know all too well the pains and struggles. I'll try to type something quick and have to edit a message because.. I somehow end up learning latin and trying to summon a demon with my errors on a fun.

I'm aiming for the Casual Event this week! I've mostly got to finish filling out Mae's TRP and then I will be most certainly leveling my heart out with some free time I have!

Thank you so much!

Just a heads up about the causal event! It does take place on the Epsilon private server. While all campaigns and most events are on retail, the causal Lightsong walk ups are done on the private one. It helps immersion and kinda helps build what Lightsong looks like. It isn't hard to install (also free), but it does take a bit to get loaded and set up. Also if you need help leveling, I have a few characters I should get around to.

Ooh-- I didn't realize this, thank you. I'll see about looking into it, but I prefer to stay away from private servers for the most part. Would this be a problem in the future? I'm primarily focusing on finishing the TRP, but would definitely love helping level in the future! I've heard a fair bit about Epsilon but mostly bad things so I'd definitely have to think on that behalf.

It is 100% not required. I didn't start using it until a month and some change ago (and I've used it once). Just didn't want you to show up in Lightsong and wonder where everybody was hiding. It's a fun tool, but you'd be completely be fine without it.
