Hi everyone! My character's name is Allauyine Embersage. You may possibly know me as Faydori from the Horde guild, Duskwatch Saberguard. Allauyine needs a kaldorei home and I've had only great experiences with the Silver Circle so far, so I figured I'd give it a shot! <3 Allauyine is a kaldorei traditional dancer and performer, who has taken up arcane training as more of a hobby than anything. She comes from a family who emphasizes upholding kaldorei traditions and culture above all else; as such, as she well trained in many kaldorei traditional arts and practices. She is most popular for her fan dance and sword dance, and sometimes embellishes her performances with magic effects. She will actually be performing at the upcoming Byltan Festival, so I figured it'd be nice to have her in a kaldorei-focused guild! I've been RPing as a whole for over ten years, but I started playing and RPing in WoW during Mists of Pandaria. I've been playing on and off since then, but I'm here to stay as of right now!
OOC: What about the kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them?
As an ethnic Korean, I've always really loved the night elves because I remember being super excited when I saw that their cuisine was Korean food! As I learned more about them, I loved their super rich history, their aesthetic, their attunement to nature, and of course, their culture. Darnassus is still my favorite capital city in all of WoW, and the night elves hold a special place in my heart because I never expected to see a reflection of my beloved culture in-game.
IC: What memory has the most impact on your character's life, and does it drive them today?
Perhaps the most impactful memory for Allauyine has to be the Burning of Teldrassil. The only reason she survived was because she was visiting the newly-liberated city of Suramar. She arrived back at her home far too late, with the tree already gone and her family killed in the flames. Since then, she's been afraid to stray too far from her people in the fear of losing what is precious to her. She has always become much more dedicated to upholding the traditions and practices she was taught, a knowledge that she once considered a burden.
OOC: Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why.
My dream job is to be a food writer or reviewer. I've always loved cooking and food, and I've always wanted to share my cooking and recipes on the media. I also love traveling and trying new food and I religiously write Google Reviews for every place I visit, so it'd be nice if I could make a living from it!
IC: What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents?
Allauyine is well-versed in the arcane, but her true passion lies with the cultural traditions of her people. She can teach people how to cook and make classic kaldorei foods, such as kimchi, and is quite skilled in weaving as she makes her own performance clothes. Most of all, she is happy to teach others kaldorei dances — many are meant to be group dances, after all!
OOC: What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer?
I'm actually an English Education major, so writing takes up the majority of my academia. Creatively, I'd like to be able to resonate with people through my writing, conveying the right emotions for my characters. I'd also want to work on a consistent, coherent flow in my writing.
IC: Name one thing you love about your character, and one thing you'd like to improve for them.
I actually trained in Korean traditional dance for several years, so I love that I can express my love for it through Allauyine in-game. I love that, despite the rapidly-changing world, she can still share the beauty of kaldorei traditions. I think in general, I just haven't RPed her much at all yet, so I'd like to get a better feel for her and see where I want to take her story arc and personality.
OOC: Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community.
At the moment, I appreciate a chill community that offers a lot of opportunity to get involved, but doesn't demand a huge amount of time in order to do so. As I'm in multiple RP communities, I appreciate when I can be a part of all of them without having to feel more obligated to one over another.
IC: Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way?
She is fairly spiritual. She dedicates her life to Elune, but if anything, her allegiances are with her people above all else. She does a fair amount of ritual dances with religious connotations, but doesn't consider herself particularly zealous. This is because she tends to be more practical and would rather focus on the wellbeing of the kaldorei than the worship of deities.
OOC: Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of?
I'm probably a comfortable ambivert! I enjoy talking and engaging with people, but I also like an ample amount of alone time. I tend to get overwhelmed in big gatherings, so I prefer to fade into the background and only talk if I'm talked to first. Ideally, I tend to be most comfortable in a group of 3-4 people at max. More than that, and I'm more content to listen and observe.
IC: Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax, why?
Allauyine would definitely prefer to stay home. She used to love adventuring, but her lasting trauma from not being able to help during the War of Thorns has made her afraid to branch out too far. She sticks close to wherever her people are congregated, whether that's in Stormwind City or various parts of Kalimdor.
Hey Faydori ^_^ Welcome to the Silver Circle forums.
