Valdryth Willowmoon
Hello! My character's name is Valdryth, a night elf priest. I've been roleplaying on and off since Wrath of the Lich King, and been playing WoW since a little before Burning Crusade launched. I've experimented with RP in Guild Wars 2, SWTOR, FFXIV, Wildstar... if it's an MMO, I've probably tried and and tried to RP in it as well. Looking forward to reading through more of this website and other introductions, and maybe try to join in on one of the upcoming public events.

Touch of Elune
OOC: What about the kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them?
IC: What memory has the most impact on your character's life, and does it drive them today?

OOC: Night elves were my gateway into Warcraft lore, and Tyrande in Warcraft 3 is who drove my interest to play World of Warcraft. Their culture and personalities are exciting and variable – showing that not every night elf even in-game is the exact same. Something else I always come back to when I think about “why do I love night elves” is their aesthetic. The designs of their cities and towns, whether ancient or modern, are impossible to beat.

IC: Hearing of the destruction of Auberdine, his home, while studying at the Temple of Elune in Darnassus. The news and subsequent efforts to aid the survivors have carved a dark scar into his memory. This event took everything from him, and while it shook him and his faith for some time, he emerged more compassionate and resilient.

OOC: Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why.
IC: What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents?

OOC: Although I’m a drone in the corporate world now, I’ve always loved literature and writing. Seeing the way societies have shifted over time through the eyes of poems, short stories, and novels is always something I try to go back to. On the total opposite end of the spectrum, I usually just spend most evenings watching Real Housewives with my boyfriend and two chihuahuas.
IC: Valdryth is an amateur astrologer by hobby. He has always admired and studied the celestial bodies and knows a thing or two about star movements. Occasionally, he experiences “visions” of the future within dreams – though they are often incorrect or vague in detail. To himself, he considers this a gift from Elune.

Nature Resistance
OOC: What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer?
IC: Name one thing you love about your character, and one thing you'd like to improve for them.

OOC: I’m not that great at in-game RP, to be honest. Sometimes it’s hard for me to think of anything meaningful that my character would add in the moment. So, I’d definitely like to be better at fast-thinking in the moment. I think this will partially come with time as I get to know my character better.
IC: What I love most about Valdryth is how he represents the still recent cultural shift of allowing male Kaldorei to study with the Sisterhood of Elune as priests. Most of my night elf characters have been relatively old and firmly in their professions, be they druid, Sentinel, or mage – but Valdryth is still comparatively young and only around a decade into his studies, firmly placed in that “acolyte” status. This will allow him to grow significantly, but also leaves him very unsure of himself, his abilities, and whether or not him being allowed to be a priest is all some big mistake.

Wisp Spirit
OOC: Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community.
IC: Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way?

OOC: Ultimately, my ideal roleplay community is one where everyone is in it to have fun, support each other, respect personal boundaries, and enjoy each other’s stories.
IC: Yes, he considers himself completely devoted to Elune. His chosen mother considered honoring the moon goddess to be of the utmost importance during Valdryth’s younger years. His life has been eternally molded by his perceived calling to embody Elune, and considered the broken gender barriers a sign from the goddess herself. Since being allowed to formally train with the Sisterhood, this spirituality and faith has only grown stronger with the teachings and sermons of the elder Priestesses.

OOC: Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of?
IC: Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax, why?

OOC: Absolutely an introvert. My ideal get together is very small and intimate, maybe no more than four or five people that I already know. It’s sometimes difficult to bring myself to meet new people, but I tend to open up quickly once I’m comfortable.
IC: Valdryth definitely prefers going on adventures, but doesn’t feel he often gets the opportunity. Being unskilled compared to most within the Sisterhood, his duties have mostly been relegated to helping the poor and sickly of cities and villages. With the burning of Teldrassil and loss of most communities that the Kaldorei held dear, the inexperienced acolyte has been allowed to brave the world on behalf of the priesthood.

Ishnu-alah. Valdryth,

It's great to see new comers and new faces, and we could always use more priests! I'm a lot the same way in terms of Warcraft III drawing me into the NE culture and idea, it's such a great place to draw inspiration from.

In game Rp can be hard for me a lot of the time as well, mine is mostly time. I practice a lot using discord though, as that seems to be more readily available. Perhaps that's something you might enjoy as well? I also am drawn to smaller more closer knit groups for closer rps, but the events are quite enjoyable as well. They give you a chance to really interact with other people and establish a larger community.

I'm really excited and curious to hear about the stargazing. As a Hippogryph Rider, that is a primary way we navigate at night and during storms. So I'm super excited to compare charts!

Obviously looking forward to meeting with you and seeing you around.

Casually losing my mind over a male kaldorei priest - omg

PUHLEASE, I would totally love to get together with you sometime in game and RP. Perhaps getting one on one or even a few people together could help alleviate what you perceive to be a lack in talent with in-game RP. Small group RP is great for stuff like that I think. Plus it'll give you a chance to get to know a few of our members!

Feel free to DM me on discord if you'd ever like to set something up sometime!
