Hey hey readers. This post has been pending for a while. I've spent several occasions contemplating a place for my favorite Mage since Starfall died. I've been of the Kaldorei since I learned about Warcraft. My earliest characters were Night Elves and even now they make up most of my character roster. I'm especially taken by the Amazonian aesthetic of their army and the various aspects of their history, particularly before the War of the Ancients. My interest in the Highborne is mainly what eventually led me to creating Astrea. Speaking of...

Astrea Ellya Evermoon (originally just Astrea Lightriver) is perhaps one of my longest lasting Highborne characters; an old and powerful sorceress, at odds with her unending quest for arcane knowledge and ever-failing desire to see her people prosper. I see her as well meaning; embittered by the modern world and how history has treated her, but just stubborn enough not give up entirely on her political goals.

While perhaps somewhat cliche, the War of the Ancients is one of the most notable events to shape her current life; particularly events closely following its aftermath. I once wrote a short story about it; Veins of Azeroth, I believe I called. It might be somewhere on the WoW forums; I remember posting it but I can't remember if it was before or after the change, but I digress. As with most alive at that time the war took just about everything from Astrea. Her reaction to it all, a violent vendetta against demonkind and their collaborators, led to journey of endangerment and discovery; one that, in some ways, has yet to truly end.

Currently I have Astrea written as possessing an interest in teaching the arcane arts to others. She has written various books on the subject; parts of which can ooc be found on the WoW forums and Kirin Tor Network. She has also given lectures in Dalaran on occasion; many of which were on the school of Conjuration, with one or two on Divination. Though not a skill that often comes into play she is also something of a skilled swordsman.

One of the things that keeps me drawn to Astrea specifically is her personality. I see her as opportunistic, headstrong and confident. I like her subdued distain and the spots of optimism that lurk beneath. I think she's one of the deepest characters I've created in Warcraft, that isn't a Death Knight. My portrayal is far from perfect however, and as is often the case I think my grasp on the character slips the longer go without a meaningful opportunity to develop. I also fear I may have made her a tad too anti-social. At times I think her skill set may be overlarge, as in the past I've often had situations where I either had few opportunities to utilize something or otherwise felt discouraged from doing so.

Returning a bit to Astrea as a person, I typically portray her as somewhat spiritual but largely pragmatic. While she is no less faithful to Elune than your typical Kaldorei she's more likely to act based on logic. She's rather goal driven overall. Typically most of her travels, mundane or otherwise, are for some particular reason. While she certainly doesn't hate the chaos and excitement that comes from adventuring, these days she's more likely to stay home with her work if there's no good reason to leave.

Now then, a bit more about me. Besides gaming, writing is pretty much my most consistent hobby. As a neet I have plenty of time for it and I hope to make a career out of it. I also have a pretty strong interest in martial science and used to study Japanese swordsmanship for a time. I suppose one could blame my interest in fantasy on that, especially chanbara and other forms of Samurai fiction. Perhaps if I had learned about Hema earlier things might be a bit different, but again I digress.

I still practice some drills occasionally. Going back to writing I find dialogue to be one of my weakest aspects. I'd like to think I'm decent when it comes to descriptions; presenting dispositions and situations. Even here however I think there's room for improvement. I also struggle a bit with the concept of finishing first drafts in a single go, but that is well on it's way to changing.

Socially I suppose I'm an introvert. I've never been particularly great with social interaction. I typically speak when spoken to. This perhaps also typically bleeds into rp a bit, though I do try to power through at times.

So with all that I'll leave with a little bit of ooc trivia. Astrea's original surname, Lightriver (or Sela'tamos) was created with the intent of invoking celestial themes without using celestial terminology. The name still sees use with some of my other elves, including another Mage.

Thanks for reading.

Ishnu'alah Astrea!

Thank you so much for your interest in Silver Circle. Your first few sentences confused me for a moment, because I thought you were referring to the demise of Starfall, the in-game village. It took me a moment to recognize the name Evermoon to recall Starfall Sentinels.

Are you also the player of Maesha Evermoon? Or were you one of the officers of Starfall for a time?

You're welcome to add me on Discord (Feyawen#6264) to discuss too, if you wish. I'd like to know more about your Highborne and what your interests are as a roleplayer.

I'm not Maesha but I do occasionally keep in contact with him. My character was partially rewritten to be Maesha's twin sister; there's a quint little story behind that, actually. I was an also an officer in the guild for a time but not much was made of that authority.

Also I must admit the potential for that line to be confusing completely eluded me. Kinda funny in retrospect.

Definitely funny in retrospect 😆 But also ironically fitting considering the storyline we're exploring at present involves dangers to Starfall village up in Winterspring.
