Greetings, well met, salutations, and all that jazz! My name is Greyson, and I'm actually Kristin's (Eleanare's) husband IRL. Most people simply call me Grey, Bishop (an old gamer tag that stuck as a nickname -_-), or like her, a multitude of other old character nicknames of yore. A little about me; I'm a recorded musician (drumset, but play percussion, a little piano/guitar/bass), I absolutely love being on the road with my band and seeing the beautiful side of these states I call home that I'd not see otherwise, I enjoy cooking (normal day job, though I tire of cooking for a job), can't generally get enough of comprehensive, community-driven, co-operative storytelling, and also am a fanatic roleplayer.
I've played WoW on and off since just after release and enjoyed a bit of Warcraft III before that. My cousins (incidentally the ones that introduced me to roleplay a few years prior through D&D campaigns) introduced me to WoW about two months after it hit shelves and after TES III: Morrowind had destroyed my view on what a video game should be (I loved it, and couldn't find anything similar), I was absolutely hooked with the lore and love of everything. It didn't help that I was reading the Forgotten Realms "Drizzt" series by R.A.Salvatore at the time, and that was my original love for "Drow" which made (as I'm sure many) my first character a Night Elf hunter. No, I did not name them Drizzt... (It was taken :P)
Anyway, fast forward a few years and a few many college D&D campaigns, and I met the wonderful Eleanare, who joined me in WoW. We played through a myriad of guilds over the years; a Dwarf Hardcore-RP guild, the Orc RP guild where we spoke Blackspeech that she references, and then the one that we co-GMed for a few years that dissolved around Cata. We've been searching for a good home through many games and many guilds since then, but nothing has ever sounded or felt so alluring as what the Silver Circle seems to offer from the outside, and it's just enough to tickle the tastebuds. She showed me the inspired Darnassian song from Sharm just the other day and I was absolutely entranced. Dangerous, mind you, while driving down the road... But as a shamanic drum circle guide, I'm used to songs that will transport you to another universe. And I must say, I was elsewhere... There are few songs and musicians that can do that to me without me preparing and meditating to go into that headspace, and I had to at least join Eleanare in that journey of seeking such inspiration. <3
Like her, my Kaldorei is rusty, and I've forgotten much of it as I've gotten older, but I'm happy to learn and reignite/rekindle the fondness with them that I remember feeling the -first- time I played WoW. Here am I, happily tagging along!
OOC: What about the Kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them? The lore, the immense amount of history that the Kaldorei have is absolutely, overwhelmingly attractive. Even if there are a few (read: a few thousand) years where we just scratch our heads and guess at what was going on. I absolutely love learning about history, especially the history of a good story... And that's where I find myself with WoW, always yearning to know more!
IC: What memory has the most impact on your character's life, and does it drive them today? The discovery of N'Zoth and the furthering corruption of the Dream had a major impact on Shaeneth's life, seeing many loved ones suffer and even lose themself to the fiendish Nightmare Lord Xavius and the Old God. It drove him to work his hardest to maintain the balances within himself and why he struggles so greatly today with his anger and want for vengeance over the War of Thorns...
OOC: Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why. My dream job is to continue to be able to tour and play music. I don't need to make it BIG, though that's always a bonus... The joy is simply in the creation of art and sharing it with others. Other hobbies I enjoy are making spray paint art, working with crafts like paracord, forging metals, fire breathing, and poi fire dancing. (I suck at Fire Breathing and Poi just so you know... XD). I probably enjoy the spray paint and fire dancing/breathing because I enjoy performance art, while the paracord bracelets and things are just, mind-numbing, peaceful crafts to do when stressed. Forging, I just enjoy the idea of making beautiful items made from metal. Unfortunately, I've yet to make anything beautiful from the forge... :P
IC: What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents? "Skills to teach? No no no! I do not possess any skills any greater than any other druid knows..." In truth, Shaeneth has an affinity for horticulture; a green thumb, if you would. More specifically, the harvesting of said plants, cultured or wild-scavenged. He honors life he takes, thanking nature's creatures for their sacrifice and letting them know their gifts will be well appreciated. (I.E. Skinning for leatherworkers >.>)
OOC: What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer? Hmmm, as a writer, I'd like to see myself develop the skills to put my thoughts on paper more (in a story-teller environment, like a DM instead of a player). I've DM'd many events and campaigns that were great, but sometimes I feel like I fail in the instance of being prepared for what -others- will do. And, I'd like to have better skills to combat derailing by players that help me get them back on course without having to ponder too long on the event and cause lengthy delays...
IC: Name one thing you love about your character, and one thing you'd like to improve for them. So far? I love Shaeneth's ability to recognize his own mistakes, acknowledge, and grow from them. But, to better develop his depth of character and really bring him to life, I would like to explore the emotional issues he struggles with while endeavoring to maintain the balance of nature without succumbing to the wrath that so often threatens to consume him. Primarily, as a Guardian of the Wilds, he is dangerously quick-tempered at the injustice of the world, especially as demonstrated by the all too common corruption of Natural Order. "Why are humans... and EVERY race, we included... SO rotten?"
OOC: Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community. I absolutely -love- immersive/hardcore/heavy RP settings and creative storytelling. These are key items in my ideal roleplay community. A little comedic flair to break up tense moments never hurts either... A well-placed stumble can break the ice, so to speak. I enjoy lore-abiding, even if expanding and pushing (but not breaking), roleplay settings. Also, good combat mechanics for RP events always help because not everyone is good at PvP, but their character may be able to do things properly, even if mechanics and player ability do not allow. All things I try and think about for my IDEAL roleplay settings. Regardless, I make do with what is laid out before me :)
IC: Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way? Shaeneth, as a druid, is irrevocably reverent towards nature and her cycles, but he is not the most religious. He honors tradition, and honors life, but does not worship anything, per se. He puts his trust in nature but knows it can be twisted and corrupted beyond recognition.
OOC: Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of? I like to say I'm an introvert, but I feel that is far from the truth. Homebody, yes, but I am absolutely an extrovert. Both in and out of game. Ideally, I like small get-togethers merely because they are more intimate in setting and, if we're absolutely honest, easier to keep up with. However, I do not mind large scale settings and quite enjoy hitting the -mingling- scene occasionally just to meet new people and see where stories can take you.
IC: Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax, why? "Home is relative, nature is everywhere, and she is my home." As far as Shaeneth is concerned, he's always home... Except in Stormwind. He is disgusted with the stone city and finds it unnatural. And it smells (sewers). Regardless, though, he loves to set out on an adventure and see more of the world around... Never satisfied with being in one place for far too long, he is the embodiment of a wanderer. However, as Velen says, "Not all those who wander, are lost."
