I had the marvelous pleasure of RPing with a few of you late Wednesday night after the Azsuna event, so I figured I would come and introduce myself. I play the priestess Luniera Moonsong, my first 120 on the Alliance side. For years, I played mainly Horde as the Blood Elf Fastrider Ruthar Ronaestrider and I co-ran <Phoenix Guard> until its recent disbanding. With the guild shelved, I found myself with more freedom to experience other facets of the game, and the shift of attention to the Kaldorei between Legion and BfA definitely piqued my interest! I've been poking around on a few characters now, trying to keep up with all elements of the current Warcraft story, though, I have to admit, I've quite enjoyed the Alliance experience thus far.
On to some fun questions!
OOC:What about the Kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them? The Kaldorei were my first experience in World of Warcraft a very long time ago. The vibrant colours, the feeling of a foreign but comfortable world, and especially the music truly transported me into another world. I've never forgotten that experience (even after so many years of primarily Horde playing), and the overall ambiance surround the Kaldorei is something that has always remained and inspired a whole lot of my creative endeavors.
IC:What memory has the most impact on your character's life, and does it drive them today?Luniera cants her head to the side in thought, closing her eyes for moment. "So many things come to mind - so many people, places, experiences..." She opens her eyes slowly and her expression is one of sadness. "Though it feels so long ago, the War of the Ancients continues to lay heavily upon me - upon us all, really. It truly forced me into a new experience of desperation and survival, into a new life where comfort and assumption were unsafe thoughts. In many ways - well, perhaps all ways, it has shaped my path to the now."
OOC:Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why. I am a musician by trade as both a performer and composer. I've written everything between podcast intros to a full-blown symphony, and I enjoy every project I get the chance to write (I do lots of work for WoW characters, too, which is truly a joy). My dream job is kind of what I'm doing right now, though I would love to shift into a more full-time position instead of the freelance experience I'm currently in. For hobbies, I love RP and tabletop games (when/if the schedule allows), and I am also a member of the worldwide Star Wars costuming club, the 501st Legion which I have truly come to love and cherish.
IC:What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents? "History, manners, key things about our allies' cultures, the teachings of Elune and the ways of the priest - I suppose I can teach quite a few things, though I'm not sure how effective of a teacher I truly am." She chuckles lightly before continuing. "Hidden talents? My mother was a very talented seamstress and I did manage to learn quite a lot from her. It's not entirely a secret, per-se, but I suppose not many would know about that."
OOC:What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer? My experiences in roleplay for pretty much my entire roleplaying career have been primarily militaristic. While that has served me very well for the kind of RP I have been used to, I am looking forward to broadening my horizons with RP that encompasses more than just being a servant to military endeavors. That isn't to say that Luniera is not faithful to who or what she serves, but she is a softer soul than those I have regularly RP'd in the past.
IC:Name one thing you love about your character, and one thing you'd like to improve for them. It's hard to say exactly what I love about Luniera just yet as I haven't had the multiple years of RP on her that I have had with other characters yet, but, so far, I enjoy the fact that she has been involved and/or alive for most of the key events in Warcraft's history. It really like the fact that she can easily fit into the Warcraft world due to her experiences as a long-lived Kaldorei. That leads directly to the improvement side, as well - I definitely need to be sure to reign in the fact that she has had so many experiences and not let her longevity outshine her younger kin unfairly.
OOC:Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community. My ideal roleplay community is, quite honestly, one that understands my personal schedule and my inability to be online at regular days/times. The freelance schedule has a way of truly kicking some ass sometimes, so my activity can sometimes be sporadic. In tandem with that, an ideal community for me uses more than just in-game events and RP for communication and character growth - Discord and forum RP are excellent tools that allow me to write on-the-go when my schedule is being nutty.
IC:Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way? Luniera nods slowly, a smile spreading across her face. "I serve the Mother Moon and have served as a Priestess of Elune since days long past. I believe that this path was destined for me - so much of what I have experienced seems to indicate that such a thought is correct, and I am truly thankful for having the experience to give back and share all the things that I hold so dear."
OOC:Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of? I am most certainly an extrovert, though it's not necessarily by choice. My career really emphasizes the need for people skills and socialization, so I've just gotten accustomed to that sort of lifestyle by now. My ideal get together is a tight but small group of people who have known each other for long enough that not much effort needs to be given for a great and entertaining time.
IC:Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax, why?"Unfortunately," Luniera begins with a serious expression, "I believe the days of staying home and relaxing are behind us." She sighs, looking out toward the sea, her voice quieter. "What I wouldn't give for a cup of tea on the upper level of the inn in Lor'danel once again. The sea always has a way of calming one's very thoughts."
Hello! Thank you for introducing yourself to us! I adore how Luniera sounds, and I definitely want to meet her.

I can highly relate to this--My friend who got me into WoW coincidentally wanted me to play Horde, but I felt drawn to the night elves and their whole aesthetic almost immediately. And so, here I am! I definitely think you'll find a lot of like-minded people who share the same nostalgia, and are highly receptive to any kind of RP one brings forth! ❤️ I look forward to seeing you more often! (I also RP Sylaurane, so I might have seen you!)

I have this weird duality where I really enjoy being extroverted, but then I swing the other way and am just to myself for a few days. I don't know why...perhaps it's like a fuel tank or something.
It's been nice to see you around and involved though, Luniera! I hope to see more of you in the future!
Sorry it took so long to reply - I was out in Chicago for a week basking in the amazement that was Star Wars Celebration. As much fun as that was, it will be nice to finally log back into Azeroth. I am certainly looking forward to meeting and RPing with you guys! :)
