I wanted to take a minute and introduce two of my other night elves so they can come have fun from time to time. :D
Touch of Elune: OOC: What about the kaldorei inspires you, and what is your favorite thing about them? I love both the endurance and the sense of culture (architecture, history, religion, etc.) that the Kaldorei possess. They are a strong people with a rich history. The matriarchy that exists within the Kaldorei society is also pretty awesome.
IC: What memory has the most impact on your character’s life, and does it drive them today? Mavrae: Mav values the memory of first learning to wield a sword from her mother. It was a time when she felt singled out and special. Her mother often coddled her sister (Allaria), and Mavrae felt as though she were being pushed to the side. But when her mother was teaching her to use a sword, it was just the two of them. Mav felt like she had her mother’s full attention and holding a sword felt like what she was supposed to be doing with her life.
Lyrdrielle: Lyrdrielle remembers the look on her brother’s face when he left her behind to fight in the War of the Shifting Sands with their mother and father. He resented being left behind to tend to his younger sister and left her alone and followed them south to fight with them. They were both young adults at the time, but she had never been left alone before. He thought she was weak. Seeing the look of resentment and disgust on his face motivates her to be a more compassionate version of herself.
Quickness: OOC: Describe your dream job or the hobbies you most enjoy and why. I would love to be a Shakespeare professor or scholar and do lots of research. I fell in love with Shakespeare at an early age and would love to spend my life reading and interpreting his plays. I love books and reading, but I also enjoy knitting. Being able to make things for other people to enjoy makes me happy. I make lots of hats.
IC: What skills can your character teach and do they have any hidden talents? Mavrae: Mavrae feels like she doesn’t have any skills beyond her skill with a blade, which was hard learned. She is too impatient to teach. While living as a refugee in Stormwind, she learned chess. In her seclusion, she whittles little pieces of wood she can find. She has whittled her own chess set, but she has never shown anyone.
Lyrdrielle: Lyrdrielle has recently taken up basket weaving. With a recent head injury having taken her out of the field of battle, she has suffered a change in personality. She is gentler, mellow, and even dreamy. A fellow druid at Nighthaven thought that basket weaving might give her something to do and Lyrdrielle took to it fast.
Nature Resistance: OOC: What personal strengths and weaknesses do you want to develop as a writer? I love writing, but I lack discipline. I get distracted easily by other activities or by other ideas. I love working with words and crafting them into patterns that read and sound pretty. I want to devote more time to develop characters more thoroughly.
IC: Name one thing you love about your character and one thing you’d like to improve for them. Mavrae: I love the strained bond between her and Allaria. She reacts to affection from a loved one in a different way than I do, so I love being able to climb into her head and know why she’s doing what she’s doing. I would like to improve the specifics about her. I tend to get a general idea about the character and then start RPing to kind of discover more about them. I’m wondering if I should take more time to write their details before I start RPing,
Lyrdrielle: I love Lyrdrielle’s new personality. She’s dreamy to the point of being almost oblivious to the rest of the world. I want to cultivate relationships with her because I think she is going to be more of a social creature than all my other characters (and myself) tend to be.
Wisp Spirit: OOC: Describe your hopes and expectations for your ideal roleplay community. I want a home that actively and deliberately tries to include everyone. I want to surround myself with people who are kind and flexible and understand that there are mistakes and everyone is always growing as an RPer.
IC: Is your character spiritual, and what made them that way? Mavrae: Mav isn’t very spiritual. She wants to be and tries to be but deep down believes she is on her own in the world. She is angry with Elune for not saving her mother during the Battle for Mount Hyjal and, more recently, she is angry about Teldrassil. She thinks a benevolent deity could not possibly allow such a thing. She hasn’t abandoned faith, but she is questioning everything.
Lyrdrielle: Lyrdrielle is very spiritual. She grew up with her father who told her stories about the Ancients, and she learned to revere them. Her favorites were Ursoc and Ursol because she had a brother too, but she also loved stories about Malorne and Aviana too. She cried when her father told her of their defeat by the Burning Legion.
Shadowmeld: OOC: Are you an introvert or extrovert, and what does your ideal get together consist of? Oh man, I am such an introvert. I have no hearing in one ear, so if there are two conversations or more, I’m toast. My ideal gathering would be a small group of people that I’m close with already so small talk is unnecessary. Bonus if there is only one conversation going on at once. Even in the game, I prefer one conversation at a time. It can get confusing and overwhelming quickly. And any ideal gathering needs cake. Virtual gathering or no, cake is always necessary. I tend to roleplay introverted characters because I don’t know how to be extroverted without sounding like an introvert that’s trying too hard. A lot of the time I don’t speak up just because I don’t have anything to say.
IC: Does your character like going on adventures or would they prefer to stay home and relax and why? Mavrae: Mav would rather go on an adventure. She hates the idea of being at home alone. She doesn’t really want to be alone in life but she subconsciously pushes people away so they don’t disappoint her. She feels like if she is out on an adventure she might be able to make a difference in the world instead of just sitting at home being useless.
Lyrdrielle: Lyrdrielle could go either way. Pre-head injury she would be more likely to go adventure but, since her concussion she needs to rest and relax and take it easy, which she has taken to easily. Previously, she liked to travel a bit but didn’t get far beyond her own home.
