Event and games originally by Acrona Winterflow of AD EU. Art below is also by Acrona!

Lahassa is similar to the human Harvest Festival or Pilgrim’s Bounty, Lahassa is a celebration of the land’s bounty and riches. It is a day for feasting, drinking and sharing with those in your community. Traditionally many night elves make generous donations to the less fortunate on this day. It is also a time to place food offerings in the Temple of the Moon and other sacred places.

Sometimes this holiday takes place at the same time as the Festival of the Twin Bears, a kaldorei holiday dedicated to honoring the Ancient Guardians, Ursoc and Ursol. Ursol and Ursoc were well known friends to the Ancients and night elves, and hailed as gods by the furbolg tribes. Ursol and Ursoc visited the villages of the night elves, especially during festivals to the Moon. The brother bears would spend time allowing night elven children to mount them, and also spent time drinking ale with the night elves. Ursol and Ursoc befriended generations of night elves.

An introductory speech by Kelanthos Ivyfang, this year's Lahassa host, in the Craftsman's Terrace of Darnassus.

5:30 pm - DRINKING CONTEST | Remembering Ursoc's love of brew
A contest of how many mugs of brew one can fill and drink during a countdown! If you think you're a fast drinker be sure to take part, but know that you have to fill your mugs full in great haste - without spilling a single drop!

OOC Details
This is a /roll based game. The participants join a raid channel. In character the characters are given a large jug and five empty mugs. There will be four rounds.

When a round begins the characters will do a /roll 5. ( For example rolling 3 means the character successfully filled and drank 3 mugs). The amount of mugs the participant manages to fill without spilling and drink will be noted up. The winner will be the character with the biggest amount of mugs successfully filled and drunk after four rounds.

The spilling part exists to add the element of 'accidents happen in haste' to make the characters' chances to win feel more equal. OOC this is a purely luck-based game and the fun is in roleplaying it out! Some of the characters might end up fairly or mighty drunk!

The winner will receive an ornamental handcrafted kaldorei stein with bear engravings on it (OOC 5,000gp), a large supply of Moonglow, and a Hyjal Wisp handcrafted figurine.

6:00 pm - VENDOR HOUR | Remembering Ursol's love of the arts
This is a time for you to sell your wares and mingle during the holiday event. Meet new people and browse new and unique items or services. Vendors do not need to sign up to participate, you can come at your leisure to sell your wares.

There will also be some entertainers present during this hour including a bard and a fortune teller.

Inspired by the unity of the bear brothers, we invite friends to pair up for a transmogrification contest together! Costume theme is "Costumes of Reverence". One could for instance be inspired by tales of a hero of the Kaldorei Resistance, tauren, earthen, furbolgs, one of the three noble Dragon Aspects that fought the Legion, or the Ancient Guardians.

During the event judges will keep their eyes open for people who have clearly dressed up as twins in honor of the strong bond between the legendary bear brothers.

The winners will receive a small collection of gifts from the event organizers which can include rare pets, gold, or other unique items.

7:30 pm - TUG OF WAR Remembering the strength of the bears
Sign up with a team of three to five people for tug of war! The game directly puts two teams at a time against each other in a test of strength: teams pull on opposite ends of a rope, with the goal being to bring the rope a certain distance in one direction against the force of the opposing team's pull. Be careful - the stones are slippery!

OOC Details
This is a /roll based game. Participants will be invited to a raid channel. 3-5 people per team.

Two teams are placed opposite of each other. The first person in line will stand on the fourth stone (from the shore) of the stone path crossing the pond in front of the Howling Oak.

The first person in line will do the first /roll 10 for their team. After both teams have rolled (one /roll per team) the teams move accordingly:

○ The team winning the roll moves one stone platform back

○ The team losing the roll moves one platform forward

○ If one team rolls 8-10 while the other team rolls 1-3, the winning team gets to move two stone platforms backwards (and the losing team moves two forward).

For each win in Tug of War, the team members will receive various gifts.

Featuring the best of night elven cuisine, the event organizers invite all participants to join them at the Warrior's Terrace in Darnassus for a harvest feast! This will be the end of the holiday event, and time for extended casual role-play for participants who choose to stick around.
